My name is Katie Carr. I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. I currently attend Agnes Scott College. When I was in 10th grade, I got a chance to take a psychology course for the semester. I fell in love with psychology, opting to take AP psychology the next year, and even a two week summer course in abnormal psychology from Emory University in the summer leading to my senior year of high school. I want to eventually become a therapist and help people by listening to the troubles in their life and working with them to find a solution for those problems, and hopefully change at least a few people’s lives for the better. I am also a creative person, and enjoy making art and stories for myself and to share with friends. It is an enjoyable outlet for me to express my thoughts and feelings, and although I do not want to pursue a creative career, I hope that sharing this love for art and storytelling with other people will help lift them up, like it has done for me. I also love animals and have worked at a local cat cafe taking care of their cats and helping to socialize them so that they can be adopted and more comfortable in the lounge space where the cats live while at Java Cats. I hope to be able to help more animals get adopted in the future.
